Why is recession a good time for travel?

The recession has affected everyone, the economy is facing harsh times. While this has had a very bad effect on currencies and markets it has made the so-called expensive travel well within your budgets.

One of the most profound effect that the recession has is on world currencies. Owing to the recession, many of the world's top tourist destinations have seen a dive in the value of their currencies. On top of that, there aren't many customers - be it airlines, hotels or entertainment to fill the void.

In order to sustain in these tough times, hotels and airlines and all tourist destinations have slashed their prices in order to entice travelers to their businesses. This only means that it is the perfect time for traveling to a dream destination - a trip you always wanted.

To give you a glimpse of how much this recession favors travelers like you - average daily hotel rates have plummeted as much a 34% in Las Vegas and other cities that is, more than 1/3rd which is unheard of in the Sin City!

Airlines have been hit the hardest. The airlines have dropped their rates as much as 15% and we're talking about regular, booked flights. When we talk about last-minute deals the possibilities are endless! It isn't very difficult to find more than 50% discounts on some flights given that airlines don't want to send their flights empty while they could be making whatever they offer their customers.

The whole situation is in your favor - you get to chose your favorite hotel and airline while spending less.

And this is not only monetary - destinations that are crowded the year round are not suddenly crowded anymore! You can enjoy the beaches and the hotels without having to compromise with all the crowd. It means that local shopping is more affordable. Getting around is much more pleasant.

And just when your work colleagues are dealing with more pressures and usually double the workload you're unwinding yourself and having the time of your life creating memories that will last a lifetime.

If there is something called a silver lining then this is it.
